The Team

Tracey Cools – Managing Director

Tracey Cools is the managing director and driving force behind the success of Efficient Living.  

  • Tracey oversees all services offered by the Efficient Living team and facilitates their business alliances.
  • Tracey is responsible for the maintenance of a quality service and customer satisfaction. 
  • She provides industry training for upcoming professionals and runs educational seminars for architects and development managers.

Tracey has training in: Architectural Technology, Building Principles, Building Thermal Physics, NatHERS, BERS Pro, AccuRate, Section J, Green Star and NABERS (ABGR).

Tracey has a passion for the built environment. She has worked in the building industry for the last 13 years and specialised in sustainability for 10 years.

Daniel Hartin – Senior Consultant & Admin Manager

Daniel specialises in;

  • BCA Section J compliance for commercial buildings
  • Multi-unit BASIX assessments and certification

Daniel prepares Building Code of Australia – Section J compliance reports for proposed commercial buildings. He also manages BASIX certification for all large and small scale multi-unit and town house developments. Daniel has ABSA (Association of Building Sustainability Assessor) training in AccuRate and BERS Pro thermal simulation software.

Daniel has been Efficient Living’s Administration and IT Manager since 2008.

Manoela Place – Sustainability Consultant

Manoela specialises in;

  • House Energy Ratings (HERS) for new building projects.

Manoela works with our clients at development application stage to refine their design and maximise the homes ability to stay naturally warm in winter and cool in summer. She is a proficient user of BERS Pro 2nd generation thermal simulation software. Manoela focuses on high end architectural homes and additions and alterations. She also manages all of our high volume housing estate clients.  

Manoela has worked and studied in the architectural and environmental management industries for the past 10 years.

Barney Maple – Home Sustainability Assessor (HSAS)

Barney specialises in;

  • Home Sustainability Assessments (formally known as: Greens Loans)
  • Water and energy reductions for residential, commercial and government buildings
  • Water and energy saving products
  • Occupational behavioural change for home owners and business managers

Barney works with the occupants of existing buildings. He assesses buildings and educates occupants on how best to use their space for maximum comfort at the lowest possible running cost. Barney has worked as a leader in the green retro-fit industry for 4 years and has a solid background knowledge in the installation and running of water and energy saving products.
