Section J

All new commercial building projects are required to have a compliance report completed; generally at construction certificate stage to demonstrate they comply with Section J of the Building Code of Australia.

Section J of the BCA relates to Energy Efficiency. The objective is for all new buildings ‘to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by efficiently using energy’.
Efficient Living's Section J reports address the following areas;

  • Part J1 – Building Fabric
  • Part J2 – External Glazing
  • Part J3 – Building Sealing
  • Part J4 – Air Movement
  • Part J5 – Air-Conditioning and Ventilation Systems
  • Part J6 – Artificial Lighting and Power
  • Part J7 – Hot Water Supply
  • Part J8 – Access for Maintenance

We provide our clients with support through the process, as well as delivering a compliance report that is easy to read, in a fast and convenient manner.

"Efficient Living has provided me with Energy Assessments and advice, Section J and BASIX certification and advices for the last 8 to 10 years. On every occasion it has exceeded my expectations in regard to timeliness and efficiency and all at a reasonable cost. On the occasions where adjustments have been required, they went out of their way to accommodate the project design intent with highly gratifying results. I recommend them very highly to anyone seeking any of the services they offer."
